Terri Schmitz Biography

Terri Schmitz is currently a licensed therapist in private practice, specializing in highly individualized therapy that draws from her education and experience of the past thirty years in the fields of psychology and counseling.

Ms. Schmitz holds a Master's Degree from California State University in Guidance and Counseling. Terri's first job after attaining her Master’s Degree was helping injured workers find jobs that fit within their interests and physical limitations.

Terri also worked with children with learning disabilities, juvenile offenders, and taught kindergarten for four years in California, after earning her Bachelor's Degree from Central Missouri State University. She has worked for over 30 years as a mental health therapist in Los Angeles, Kansas and Missouri.

Terri's therapy style is basically eclectic in nature, but she leans towards the Cognitive Behavioral approach. This includes insight therapy as well as behavior modification. The two systems work well together. She is also a proponent of mindfulness in all that we do. She offers confidential services in a friendly setting.
